Tewkesbury

We spent the rest of the afternoon checking out Tewkesbury...we visited the Abbey when we first arrived but there was so much more to see.  Tewkesbury is a river town with a little promenade.

There's a large (apparently the largest in Europe) Medieval Festival taking place July 10-11 so the town was getting ready for the festivities.  Windows were decorated for the festival and banners were hung from many buildings.  Here's a few of the banners around town.

When we were walking back to our car, we stopped to look at a few trinkets in a shop and Moma started chatting with a man.  Turns out he is an ex-pat living in Tewkesbury for the past 20 years...originally from New York.  He invited us to his place for tea next week but alas, we'll be back in the States on Tuesday.
