A Day of Interesting Bathroom Experiences

Today was our last day in Siem Reap before flying to Hanoi and our morning was at our leisure so we just chilled as the constant go go go of the last 16 days was finally catching up with us.  We had to check out of our rooms at 11AM and then went to a museum but honestly, I can't remember much of it. We returned to the hotel for lunch before heading to the airport.

After lunch, several of us made a stop in the ladies room but LuLu spent more time than she had planned.  The locks on the doors were a little tricky and as luck would have it, LuLu got one that decided to dislodge so she was trapped in the stall for 20 minutes.  I know you're probably saying "why didn't she just crawl out under the door" and while it would have been undignified, she would happily done so.  Just one problem...it was a solid wood door from the ceiling to the floor.  Fortunately she had a bottle of water in her backpack and a place to sit while we figured it out.

The hotel staff were not the brightest and could not seem to grasp the importance of getting her out.  It was actually quite comical as staff would come and look at the door and then leave.  Finally their "engineer" came in with a set of keys that would make Dwayne Schneider envious. Finally, LuLu was sprung from her prison and I think she will be forever leery of going into public restrooms!

When we got to our hotel in Hanoi, LuLu got interesting bathroom experience number 2 (no pun intended).  Our hotel was rather swanky and it had an electric bidet!  It was definitely an experience only a mother and daughter could share as I showed her how to use it.  Her facial expressions were priceless!
