Ketchikan: Eagles, Totem Poles and Lighthouse

We spent today out on the water in Ketchikan...I know we leave one boat for another but it was definitely a great excursion!  There were about 25 of us on the boat and the crew was fabulous!  They even came around and took drink orders so we didn't have to leave the viewing deck.

Throughout the trip, we saw 10 eagles' nests and as many eagles, totem poles and an unusual lighthouse.  Because of the extreme high winds in Alaska, lighthouse are built low and square otherwise they would blow over if built like the lighthouses in the lower 48. We knew it was going to be a great trip when we saw a bald eagle as soon as we got to the boat.
